Introduction to Four Field Study Centres

CUG has established four field study centers in Zhoukoudian, Beidaihe, Zigui, and Badong to train students in fieldwork skills.

Zhoukoudian, known as the “Cradle of Geological Engineers”, has trained more than 40,000 geologists, some of them have become members of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, as well as distinguished scientists and educators.

Beidaihe has developed a wide variety of training programs in geology, geography, geophysics, biology and tourism.

Zigui has received over 20,000 visitors since it opened. Those visitors included scholars and students from Peking University, Sun Yat-sen University, Taiwan University, University of Hong Kong, Mosco University (Russia), University of Huston (USA), Freiberg University of Mining and Technology (Germany), Konkuk University (Korea), and etc.

Badong Science and Education Base was officially put into use and became the fourth CUG field study center, in July 2018.
