General Information about the
Construction of Laboratories
There
are altogether 13 schools and departments offering undergraduate programs
in CUG.The current students of all types total over 1,000. The university
now owns 5 national key disciplines, 8 key disciplines of provincial
and ministerial level. Moreover, 23 majors have been authorized to grant
Master¨s Degree, 10 have been authorized to grant Doctor¨s Degree. The
university also runs 2 post-doctoral working stations and 2 top doctoral
disciplines.
There are 63 laboratories of various types, including 1 key laboratory
of Ministry of Education, 7 open (key) laboratories or engineering centers
of provincial and ministerial level. Furthermore,9 laboratories of basic
subjects have regarded by the evaluation initiated by the Provincial
Education Committee as sufficient for teaching and researching.
The university presently owns 11828 sets of lab facilities with a
total value of 120 million yuan, including 145 sets of large apparatus
worth 42.92 million yuan. A cross-disciplinary lab system with reasonable
structures and multifunctions has been formed on the whole. Meanwhile,
with a large number of internationally advanced large apparatus, the
university has primarily shaped a facility management system with reasonable
configuration and abundant common resources.
There are also enough area for teaching and the scientific research
in CUG, covering about 41062 square meters (building area).The proportion
of various types of spaces are quite rational with good surroundings.
All this has reached the standards and met the demands set by the State
Ministry of Education.
The university has been striving for effective laboratory constructions
and laboratorial teaching reforms for many years and has as a result
harvested outstanding achievements.All this have assured the quality
of teaching for experimental classes. CUG now offers altogether 293
experimental subjects and 1425 projects.
