Yao Shuzhen
Yao Shuzhen, male, was born in January of 1947 in Xiangcheng County of Henan Province. He is of Han nationality, a Party member, a full professor, and a post-doctoral supervisor. He won the title of ^Advanced Worker of Higher Education in Hubei Province  ̄ in 1981, and ^Middle-aged and Young Expert with Outstanding Contributions in Hubei Province in 1993; he also enjoys the special governmental subsidy offered by the State Council (since 1997).
He graduated from the Prospecting Department of
Beijing College of Geology in 1970, majoring in Prospecting and Exploration
of Metallic and Nonmetallic Mineral Resources; after that, he stayed
teaching in the college till now. From December of 1986 to December
of 1987, he attended in advanced studies in Munich University of Germany.
Then He was successively Vice Director of the Mineral Deposit Staff
Room in Mineral Deposit Department, Vice President and then President
of Mineral Deposit Department. From 1993 till now, he is Vice President
of CUG and Dean of Graduate School.
He was Director of China Association of Geology from 1993 to 2001, Vice Chief Director of Hubei Association of Geology from 1993 to 2001, member of Hubei Natural Science and Technology Association from 1997 to 2001, Vice Director of Instructing Committee for the Teaching of Geological Mineral Resources Branch since 2001, Director of Diploma and Graduate Education Association of Hubei Province since 2001, Vice Director of Hubei Mining League since 2001, Chief Editor of Geological Science and Technology Intelligence since 2001, and Chief Editor of Gems and Gemmology, etc.
He is specialized in disciplines such as Gitology, Stucture of Mine Fields, Rules and Forecast of Regional Mineralization, and Mineral Resources Economics. He also instructs 11 masters (5 have graduated), 23 doctors (9 have graduated), and 2 post-doctoral researchers in the branch of Gitology and Resource Economics.
He presided or played as a leading role in over
10 projects of scientific research at national or provincial and ministerial
levels. His research accomplishments has won himself 2 first prizes,
1 second prize, and 3 third prizes for Advancement of Science and
Technology at ministerial level. He has cooperated with others in
the publication of 4 monographs, 2 textbooks; and he has also published
more than 50 thesises.
