Wang Yanxin

¡¡¡¡Wang Yanxin, male¡¡of Han nationality, was born in December 1963 in Yuanping of Shanxi Province. He is a Party member, a full professor, and a doctoral supervisor. He graduated from Nanjing University and was granted Bachelor's Degree in 1984; in 1990, he fulfilled his graduate studies in China University of Geosciences and was conferred Doctor of Engineering. He pursued his studies in Waterloo University of Canada from September of 1998 to September of 1999. Currently, he works as Vice President of CUG, member of Board of Editors of periodicals such as Hydrological Geology and Engineering Geology , Journal of Projects of the Prevention and Lessening of Disasters , Minerals and Rocks , Earth Sciences , etc. He is also a member of Chinese Association of Geology and Vice Director of Hydrological Geological Committee, Vice Chief Director of Hubei Association of Geology, Commissary in the Research Center of City Environmental Geology of Chinese Geological Investigation Bureau, and Commissary of Teaching Instruction Committee of Environmental Engineering Subject run by the Ministry of Education. He is honored as one of the middle-aged and young experts with outstanding contributions in Hubei Province; he enjoys special governmental subsidy offered by the State Council, and has won the ¡°Prize for Young Teachers of Higher Education¡± offered by the Ministry of Education.

¡¡¡¡He is mainly engaged in the teaching and scientific research of hydrological geology and environmental engineering. He has altogether trained more than 20 graduates. The¡¡number of key projects of national natural science funds, ¡°863 Plan¡± Projects, and international cooperation projects that he has ever undertaken reaches over 20, winning respectively 3 second and third prizes at provincial level for him. Since 1997, he has published 55 academic thesises, including 10 entering SCI and 19 entering EI and ISTP. He has also published 3 monographs and textbooks. The monograph Pollution and Prevention of Groundwater composed by him has also been selected into the imbursing plan for ¡°Recommended Book for Graduates¡± initiated by the Ministry of Education.
